TSCR is a 501(c) 3, nonprofit organization focusing in 2014 on children with cancerous brain tumors. TSCR is dedicating its fundraising efforts this year to basic and clinical cancer research conducted by TSCR medical advisory committee members Drs. Will Decker Ph.D. (Baylor College of Medicine) and Ratan Bhardwaj M.D., Ph.D. (Phoenix Children’s Hospital).
TSCR is supporting this research because every year more than 13,000 children in the United States are diagnosed with a pediatric cancer. Perhaps worst of all are pediatric brain cancers, a diagnosis leaving parents and physicians with a series of agonizing choices. Current aggressive chemo and radiation therapies offer the best chance of cure but result in severe and debilitating side-effects.
Dr. Decker's research has shown that the immune system can be harnessed to treat cancer. Our goal is that these immune-based treatments replace some of the toxic therapies that now treat cancer only at great cost. We believe that bringing this new immunologic principle into clinical practice will revolutionize the paradigm by which cancer is treated.
Please support this worthy cause with a tax-deductible financial donation by going to our webpage at www.txstemcell.org or by sending a check to the address below or feel free to call me at 512.797.2703.
Ultimately, your donation will assist in finding cures for Texans living with chronic disease. Perhaps even someone you love.
