TEXANS FOR STEM CELL RESEARCH
2009-2010 GOALS

  • To provide comprehensive, concise and up-to-date educational information to the public and policy makers regarding the benefits of stem cell research and therapy. We will focus on the positive economic benefits stem cell research and therapy could provide the State of Texas.
  • To assist in funding stem cell clinical trials and support the activities of medical facilities and universities conducting stem cell research in Texas. We will promote the advancement of safe and effective stem cell research and therapy throughout the state of Texas.
  • To research and monitor all state and federal legislation regarding stem cell research and therapy. We will assist legislators with up-to-date information on adult autologous treatments in the United States and the future of cord blood, induced pluri-potent and all other methods of providing stem cell therapy. We will keep up-to-date with published results from clinical trials in the United States and report the findings to policy makers and the general public.
  • To advocate for responsible public policy regarding stem cell research and therapy in order to protect our citizens. We will sponsor educational seminars across the state with stem cell scientists, state legislators, and policy makers. We believe educating as many of our citizens and will allow Texas to regain its rightful place as a leader in medical research and treatment.
